Chain letters

Before I begin, I know that your time is your own to waste, but for Christ's sake, please stop wasting it on chain letters!

Facebook's superwall and funwall applications are inundated with Cancer patients and missing children. "Forward this to ten people and the Make a Wish Foundation will pay our daughter 10 cents" and so on is complete fabrication.

Take this for example:

Hi, my name is Amy Bruce.

I am 7 years old, and I have severe lung cancer . I also have a large
tumour in my brain, from repeated beatings Doctors say I will
die soon if this isn't fixed, and my family can't pay the bills.
The Make A Wish Foundation has agreed to donate 7 cents for every time
This message is sent on.
For those of you who send this along, I thank you so much, but for
those who don't send it, what goes around comes around.
Have a Heart, please send this.
Please, if you are a kind person, send this on.
PLEASE HIT FORWARD BUTTON NOT REPLY BUTTON.

YOUR'S FAITHFULLY,
AMY BRUCE
amy.bruce@makeawish.com

BOLLOCKS.

My lack of belief is backed up by a Google search on "Hi, I'm Amy Bruce", and the subsequent obvious result that it is a hoax.

Here's another one:

Please look at the picture,(Above)read what his mother
says, then forward this message on. My 15 year old boy,
Evan Trembley, is missing. He has been missing for now
two weeks. Maybe if everyone passes this on, someone
will see this child. That is how the girl from Stevens Point
was found by circulation of her picture on tv. The internet
circulates even overseas, South America , and Canada
etc. Please pass this to everyone in your address book.
With GOD on his side he will be found. "I am asking you all,
begging you to please forward this email on to anyone and
everyone you know, PLEASE. It is still not too late. Please
help us. If anyone knows anything, please contact me at: HelpfindEvanTrembley@yahoocom. I am including a picture
of him. All prayers are appreciated! It only takes 2 seconds
to forward this. If it was your child, you would want all the
help you could get!!

SHITE.

A subsequent Google search for his full name produces reams of results on the fact that he made this up to see how far around the world he can get.

It takes less time to Google this person than it takes to forward it to ten friends, so why not at least find out if it's real or not before you do so? You'll save yourself some time and keep the real forwards (which are rare, if not non-existent) prominent.

Period dramas

I really hate TV shows that have to base the scope of their story lines in a specific time period.

It results in some of the most monotonous programming I've ever seen.

If you live in the UK, you're not doubt familiar with the TV show Heartbeat.

It's set in the sixties, and has been since 1992. That means that it's been the sixties for the last fifteen years. But it feels like twenty, so by now they should all be listening to Frankie goes to Hollywood and wearing dinner jackets with the sleeves rolled up.

At least other period dramas have the decency to make a mini-series. They're the only TV show to drag out a dead donkey for fifteen pain staking years.

YOU ARE MAKING MY SUNDAY NIGHTS AT MY MUM'S HOUSE MISERABLE. STOP IT AND SACK YOUR ACTORS.
