Period dramas

I really hate TV shows that have to base the scope of their story lines in a specific time period.

It results in some of the most monotonous programming I've ever seen.

If you live in the UK, you're not doubt familiar with the TV show Heartbeat.

It's set in the sixties, and has been since 1992. That means that it's been the sixties for the last fifteen years. But it feels like twenty, so by now they should all be listening to Frankie goes to Hollywood and wearing dinner jackets with the sleeves rolled up.

At least other period dramas have the decency to make a mini-series. They're the only TV show to drag out a dead donkey for fifteen pain staking years.

YOU ARE MAKING MY SUNDAY NIGHTS AT MY MUM'S HOUSE MISERABLE. STOP IT AND SACK YOUR ACTORS.

All Feelings NULL and VOID

Yesterday I experienced the lack of emotion that only becomes apparent after you've seen a film that you didn't really take anything from.

I tried a few.

I tried Clear and Present Danger, Buffalo Soldiers and Football Factory, all three of which I was left emotionally empty.

I didn't feel anything for the characters, all of the endings were shoddy, and I felt like I've sat down and watched a football match that ended in 0-0 with equal amounts of flair and class to the scoreline.

It just makes you wish you could turn back the clock and get a summary of the film by reading the plot in empire and then watching the film in fast-forward.
