Young offenders in disguise

A 'discussion' in the pub one day resulted in us talking about how the Citroën adverts came shortly before the Transformers film, and we wondered if Citroën had some sort of product placement as compensation for coming up with the idea.

A French Transformer? What would it transform into? A rusty bike? A beret? If you're American and won't let the wars drop, a white flag?

It got us to think about what other Transformers there could be. What about a young offender Transformer?

ASBOtron transforms into a burberry cap-wearing lout who drinks White Lightning and kicks in phone boxes.

Indian Call Centres

They're not all bad.

I'm going to be the devil's advocate of doom and say that I actually belong to a bank that not only has Indian call centres, but is also an Indian bank.

I had problems logging into my account, because the login page said that my account ID had expired, so I rang (freephone) the number on their website.

I was put on hold as soon as my call was connected.

For eight seconds.

The person who answered the phone had an excellent grasp of English, sorted my problem within minutes, and couldn't do enough for me.

They're not all bad, or they're getting better. Whichever is the reason, I'm all for it.
