Boat rage

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of steering a canal boat through deepest darkest Wiltshire.

During my time there, I experienced a phenomenon that can only be described as boat rage.

As I attempted to steer past people at what seemed like 100mph but was in fact 1.5 notts (probably), I got some of the dirtiest looks I have ever attracted. There was a lack of a sense of humour, and lots of stern faces.

I think it was because we were in a hire canal boat and I was experiencing a canal class system. We were the canal scum, and the plankton were better than we were.

Even the swans were threatening, as illustrated.

Conclusion: The canal is a dangerous place.
