Google adverts and Jade Goody. Again.

This is more than anything from an immoral advert-driven perspective.

My last post focused on the lengths that people would go to in order to make money on the internet, and in this particular circumstance, using Jade Goody as an example.

I've been keeping an eye on what happens when you type "Jade Goody" into Google, and sure enough, a "fan site" has sprung up.

It's in hot pink, the content is severely limited, and there are Google advertisements on every single page. This site shot to the top of the search rankings based on popularity and content relevance (Though obviously not quality of content!), and will be making the webmaster a few pennies if nothing else.

Making money off someone's inevitable death. Nice.

  • I have seen that same website when I googled Jade, the last news update on it is about her perfume...as far as I can remember that was a good 3 years ago. I agree cashing in on someones death is terrible, especially when you consider that her actual fan site is at no.7 on the rankings and actually features a link to Cancer Research for fans to donate.
