"I'm not [insert good deed here] for my health!" is one of those non-witty remarks that you hear muppets screeching when they're performing a good deed such as holding a door open for a friend, even though they don't really want to.

What if they're not telling the truth?

What if it is for the good of their health?

No I don't mean that they're an alient of sorts that sucks the life-force from people by doing good deeds for them.

I was leaning more toward the fact that I thought that a good deed was supposed to make you feel good? I thought that someone being genuinely nice toward you was supposed to make you feel more inclined to greet them with a better bed-side manner?

Perhaps not. Maybe we're destined to become miserable bastards anyway.

Nah, definately mutant aliens feeding off of peoples' tears or something. That sounds cooler.
