The intelligence of youth

Stood on the train platform, I noticed a small group of girls who were probably between the ages of sixteen-eighteen, as they disembarked the train at a station well known for having a college nearby.

I wasn't expecting to hear ground-breaking conversation on the implications of the strength of the pound, or what they thought of Gordon Brown being the next Prime Minister, but I wasn't expecting to hear this:

Girl1: Why doesn't anybody like Vanessa Feltz? I do.
Girl2: Miss Piggy doesn't like her, so why should I?

Good grief.

Attractive girls on the dance floor

Always comedy gold.

A dancefloor is a big place at the best of times, and it supports the statistic in most cases that for every ten dancers, there is at least one pair of girls that are on that floor taking themselves far too seriously.

Their hair is done up, their makeup is packed on and their lips are pouty.

Oh, and they're dancing like they're in a Michael Jackson video with a totally straight face.

Next time you're out on the dancefloor, take a moment to tell a joke to one of these girls in the hope that they might actually crack a smile. After all, it is their night out.
