Preparation for April Fool's day
It falling on a Sunday this year is probably for the best. I don't see a lot of people on an April fool's day because of my wariness of accepting anything that anybody says as truth.
I live in fear that someone will take it too far and tell me that someone died when in fact they didn't, or that George Michael is actually straight and running off with my girlfriend.
Last year I remember a certain member of my family storming into the room announcing that we have to rid ourselves of one and two-pence piece coins. When I enquired as to why, he explained that they are being recalled in their millions, and that we had a deadline to return our currency by.
I asked this person what the date was as a matter of course, and it took what felt like a good ten seconds for the person to register the fact that it was a day when not is all as it seems.
Maybe this year my warning with make you a bit more skeptical, and hopefully suck the fun out of everybody else's weekend.
Woo. Go me.
